Welcome to the Unofficial Research Site for Puella Scientia

Puella Scientia is a research project I am starting as part of Francisco Ortega's NUI Lab at Colorado State University. The concept behind the project is to create a game/simulation that will encourage women in college and going into college to become more involved in computer science. To do this we intend to incorporate computer science concepts such as algorithms, binary, programming, etc. into easy to learn playable games. Hopefully, by showing women and girls that computer science is not as incomprehensible as they probably believe it is.

Puella Scientia itself is just a concept right now. But I believe it could incorporate plenty of elements I've discovered women respond to in the research I've done on the subject. If you'd like to see the research I'm referring to it will be available on this site soon. The idea behind Puella Scientia is a simulation game set in the distant future in which humans are almost extinct but because of foresight they created machines capable of making the world a utopian environment. However, humanity must prevail. It is the player's job, along with a team of female engineers, physicists, and most importantly computer scientists, to build up the world again, but this time in a sustainable way.
